Music Director Job Position

Currently preparing for its 17th year of operations, the Verde Valley Sinfonietta (VVS) seeks a
Music Director beginning with the 2023-2024 season. VVS is a 40-member pay-per-service
chamber orchestra currently presenting a 4--5-concert season to growing audiences in Sedona
and the Verde Valley of northern Arizona. Annual grant-funded in-school concerts or
collaborative performance events with other nonprofits are additional. While the local
population base is approximately 40,000, Sedona attracts several million tourists because of its
scenic beauty. The board-managed organization has a current budget of $250,000. The Sedona
Performing Arts Center, a hall seating 700, is the orchestra’s performance venue.

Minimum requirements include a master’s degree in orchestral conducting and documented
experience with a regional or community orchestra. Final candidates will program, rehearse,
and conduct an audition concert during the ’22-’23 season. Appointment will begin during the
summer of ’23. Salary range is $20,000-$30,000 dependent on qualifications.
